Since last Friday I have talked to numerous people that have sailed before, and all of them have said the same thing of that sailing requires a lot of time at first. My aunt and uncle are pretty good at sailing and they said that if I were to do this, then I wouldn't have to pay any money and I could just learn from them. This makes looking for clubs that would best suit my calendar much more easier. Now I can call them up at any time and ask questions about sailing and they will give me a detailed answer. Also I think they will have me start on one of the smaller boats to get the hang of it. I am going to bring my Mom to some of the lessons so that when its time to sail she will have a better hang of it as well. With this harsh winter ahead, I'm not sure what the exact date will be when I get to sail. But either way, I am excited to get on the water and sail with my family.

I have noticed that there is a difference between the basics of running a large actual sail boat and just. A regular sail boat that teenagers use. The large sail boat requires many people and a lot of enery and concentration. A smaller sail boat would be easier to handle but it would be harder to teach someone since there is not a lot of people allowed on the sail boat. Also I have noticed that sailing requires a lot of money and time, which I nessacarily do not have a lot of. Also I have to find out what I will be doing for the whole winter to make sure I am progressing every week so that when spring comes, I'm not going to be drowning in the middle of lake St. Clair. I have to put in all of these variables and weigh them out to see if I should proceed with this for 20 time.

For my 20 time project I decided to learn how to sail. This was a bit scary for me because I have no idea of how to run a sail boat, and I don't even know what starboard side or lee ward side means at all. That is not the best start for learning how to sail since I don't even know the slang terms, but my family have really wanted to learn how to sail. My family has had very busy life ever since I could remember and whenever we have free time we spend it on doing activities with the least amount of stress, such as; watching a movie, going on a vacation, going fishing, and swimming. But none of these ideas have ever amounted to the idea of sailing. The opportunity has always been there since my aunt has a very large sailboat, that she has asked us to go on many times, but my family just never went through with the idea. So through this 20 time project, I plan on giving my family another stress reliving activity to do when we have some free time on our hands. It will be hard, since I am a beginner and don't have my sea legs yet, but in the end I know that it will benefit my family and me tremendously. My goal is by the end of the school year and the beginning of the summer, to be able to run a sail boat by myself and be able to teach my family to sail as well.
